1. ARTIFICIAL GENERAL INTELLIGENCE (AGI) isn’t “a stronger software”.
AGI isn’t a stronger software. AGI is the target state of capability: intelligence that generalizes across tasks and contexts, with increasing autonomy, like the real life true master!!
In marketing, we often understand AI as “products”, a chatbot, a copy tool, an optimization feature.

👉That mindset works just for narrow AI, not AGI
That framing matters because it forces us to think beyond “a single model”, and toward “a system that can operate in the world”.
Now, AGI is the vison for all AI, the true north-star in AI world.
2. THE AGI story
If AGI ever exists, it won’t be one algorithm trained once on a specific static dataset.
It has to behave like a looping system: it gathers context, reasons, acts, observes results, then updates context and repeats.
👉This is why “agentic systems” are such a useful mental bridge for marketers: they describe language models in a loop with tools, coordinated by an orchestration layer that runs a cycle like: Think → Act → Observe.

In other words, the “shape” of general intelligence is not one-shot generation. It is structured iteration under constraints, like family generation.
3. The perspective
To avoid AGI hype, use three filters when someone says “we’re close”:
- Generalization: Does it truly transfer across different tasks and contexts, or just similar tasks?
- Autonomy: Is it actually planning and operating in a Think–Act–Observe loop, or just better prompting?
- Adaptation after deployment: Does it change behavior based on observation and feedback loops, or does it only look “smarter” because the prompt got longer?
Because AGI is not a product category. It’s a capability claim so let’s treat it like one.
This is part 1. Part 2 comes soon.
